It's been a sweaty winter at Yeah, I Gotcha locals recently so in an attempt to cool off we decided to run a Guilty Gear Strive tournament with a twist! Each player must put the name of their main into a "hat," and each player must pick a new main out of that hat to run with that entire tournament. For example, I am a Faust main, so tonight someone else had to be a Faust main, and I was stuck with someone else's main character. It turned out to be quite fun with players coaching each other on how to play their new characters! Longtime player Alex "Mecha_Alex" clutched out the win with a losers run, closely winning grand finals with 3-2 to reset the bracket and another 3-2 to take the win! Here is what he had to say about the event:
I Love locals and Ocean so much he always knows just what the people want! I know now that Faust is super fun!! Just like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. I would let Ocean have my firstborn if he wanted it either for a tournament or any other reason
